Game Planit has extensive experience training problem gambling counsellors and allied professionals all across North America. Now, this expertise is being offered to gaming operators, employers and community groups to educate the public and prevent gambling problems.

Game Planit designs and delivers customized trainings for treatment providers and gaming operators. Now, we're also offering employers and community groups a one-hour workshop entitled, "Game Planit Reveals the Truth About Slot Machines". This is a preventative workshop and is intended to help prevent gambling problems by providing a baseline level of education to raise awareness of all the known risks and how the games work. These awareness workshops are actually fun and interactive in nature and also subtly intervenes with those who may already be experiencing gambling problems. Most participants find learning about slots interesting, exciting and very informative but problem players tend to be surprised or angry about what's revealed. That is so because they suddenly become aware of their own misconceptions about the slot machines. The workshop participants will learn:

• Facts & Myths
• How a typical slot machine & other electronic gaming machines actually works (fun & entertaining)
• How various concealed attributes, such as hidden odds and virtual reel mapping produce illusions or near misses and misrepresentations of the true odds that may place players at risk
• The multiple know risk factors (bio, psycho-social, genetic, addictive game attributes)
• How to ensure you play safely – knowing your limit - guidelines & warning signs
• Who’s at Risk – How do I know I have a problem? - Where and how to find help
• How to help someone else who may have a problem
• All participants receive a copy of the unique safe@play Slot Machine tutorial CD-ROM that they can take home to their families and for future reference - the only software in the world that reveals the secrets of the machine

Cost: $500/workshop for community and business (maximum up to 25 participants) plus $15/participant, (covers participants' materials), plus applicable taxes
